Conditions Treated by Our Newcastle Chiropractor

At the Chiropractic Wellness Center, it's our job to help people dealing with neck, extremity, and back chiropractic conditions find natural relief from their acute or chronic pain. Our Newcastle chiropractor, Dr. Melinda Maxwell, has served her greater WA community for years and has proudly provided holistic, drug-free, and non-invasive relief for people across all ages and backgrounds. If you have one of the conditions listed below, a different condition altogether, or are simply looking for answers to your dysfunction, we encourage you to contact our clinic today.

Headaches and Migraines

Stress, dehydration, poor posture, bright lights, and even certain foods or smells can trigger headaches and migraines. If you experience tension headaches (which feel like a tight band around the head) or migraines (severe head pain often associated with nausea and light sensitivity), chiropractic care can help you by reducing the frequency and severity of your pain.

Sciatica and Nerve Compression

Sciatica is a syndrome that generally causes leg pain, numbness, weakness, and/or tingling due to compression of the sciatic nerve in the lower back. Other types of nerve compression which benefit from chiropractic care include carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve compression, and cervical radiculopathy. Adjustments, nonsurgical decompression, and even nutritional counseling can facilitate nerve tissue healing and reduce compression, irritation, and inflammation.

Disc Injury

Spinal discs have minimal innervation and vascular supply at baseline. This makes them subject to the stresses of age-related wear and tear and degenerate over time, in a condition known as degenerative disc disease (DDD). A disc may also rupture (herniate) or bulge out of place in response to repetitive movement, excess pressure, or poor posture. Disc injuries can cause back stiffness, pain, and even nerve compression in some cases.

Back Pain and Neck Pain

Back and neck pain are some of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Sometimes it's not exactly clear what's causing it. In other cases, an underlying condition such as osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, whiplash, or joint misalignments may be caused or exacerbated by specific risk factors such as excessive sitting or overweight/obesity. Either way, back pain and neck pain respond positively to chiropractic care, which includes adjustments, corrective exercises, and massage therapy.

Sports Injury

We treat athletes of all ages and abilities! Common sports injury we treat with our natural services include tendonitis, muscle strains, ligament sprains, plantar fasciitis, golfer's or tennis elbow, and runner's knee.

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "Dr. Maxwell and her team are really great. I love that she takes the time to really figure out what is going on with me and genuinely CARES about my health and well-being. I have been going to her for years. I had been hurting SO badly with chronic pain due to illness and debilitating migraines and she got me in right away, and adjusted me gently since it had been a while; even this gentle (but thorough) adjustment had me feeling 100times better than I've been for weeks. I can't brag enough. I have always felt so good after her adjustments. I'll be making the drive from Mukilteo to Newcastle just to continue to receive treatment from her and Dr Stephanie every week."
